Public Input Devalued in DCSD

DCSD Public Input Devalued

Douglas County School District’s Strategic Plan provides commitments to the public which speak to valuing input from parents and families and engaging the public. Recent actions devalue public input as described in the above chart.

In December of 2009, the Board of Education agreed to hold the second meeting of each month in local schools to hear from parents and the public. Those meetings have been discontinued, despite being well-attended and offering a great opportunity for two-way dialogue with the school board.
